So I should get like a hobie 16? is there a major difference in the 16 and 18? If YOU could only have one which would you get?

Bid difference between the 16 & 18, the 16 has asymmetrical hulls, the 18 are symmetrical ( round on the bottom), so you will deal with dagger boards. There are MANY sixteens around, I bought an old one that was ruff, learned what the sport was all about then got a good one. So I guess to start find a cheep 16 and get into it. If you do not like it, you ain't out much. If at all possible bumm some rides with folks with hobies.
