One of the rudders has (TSANGAS GREECE) stamped on it and they appear to be made of stainless steel. I tried to do a google search and could not find anything. They came on a hobie 16 that I purchased today.
Thanks

They sure look like stainless steel. I've seen a lot of rudders over the years, but that's a new one.

I can't think of any reason why you would want rudders made of SS. They must be incredibly heavy.

They are hollow and do not appear to any more heavy that the standard rudders. I will have to take them off and weigh them. Might be nice not to have to worry about the rudders cracking. Anyone else know or point me to someone that might about these rudders?

First I have EVER seen in stainless. Better look to Greece / Euro Hobie people for more info.

They weigh 8 pounds 4 ounces each. What do the fiberglass weigh?

Minimum rudder weight is 3 lbs. The new EPOs weigh pretty close to that.

My Euro carbon fiber ones are so light, they float up when you unlock them.
