Dear 16 experts, I am looking for a cooler box for my hobie cat 16 which I can place in the front bar of the cat. Some person told me that in the market are cooler boxes special for 16. Do somebody now how is the company how is selling this coller box?? Thank you in advance.

I looked for one for a while. Could not find a new one, but happened to talk with some one at a regatta that had one that he no longer used. I have not tried it yet.

Someone told me that they were made at one time for a Coleman cooler, probably when Hobie was owned by Coleman?

Good luck in your search.

Kent

I am not sure they are even made any more. You may have to find someone willing to part with theirs. I can't part with mine, even if it does interfere with jib sheets every so often.

I always forget to bring a cooler along with me... end up buying a couple bottles of water on my way to the lake... but I've always just thought I could take a smaller bag cooler along and just clip it's shoulder strap around the mast to secure it.

These pop up from time to time on ebay. Just search under Hobie Cat. That is where I got mine a couple of years ago. I have seen two on their fairly recently though.

I have one I would be willing to get rid of. Never use it and it just gets in my way more than anything. Send me a message or shoot me an e-mail if interested.

Cant you post a pic? Myself - I found I already had (Canon cameras gave it to me) one - SOFT with zippers and strap - that allow it to hang in front of the mast. Rarely gets in the way and works nice. Holds about a 6pack and ice. Are you speaking of a hard one?

Mariner Sails has been donating soft coolers for raffle prizes at Division 14 regattas. They snap onto trampoline lacings. Contact them at http://www.mariner-sails.com.

The original hard cooler for the 16 was the Igloo Playmate cooler:

They don't make the rack for it anymore, but you can find them on eBay occasionally.

Soft-sided coolers that attach to the trampoline don't hold as much, but they don't get in the way as much, either.
