Wide shoes

Hi,
I am new to this forum, and joined as I have just ordered an i14Tt with the sailing package.
I know there will be times when I want to wear water shoes when pedaling, and I have 4E, size 12 feet.
Can anyone recommend a good water shoe that will fit me?

I wear a 4E in a 11.
I have been buying the Keen brand. I don't want a high shoe as some of them are.
They would be fine if you had to portage on a river.
I want them to just cover the ankle.
You will need to do a search for where to buy then.

I've had good luck finding Keen shoes at REI.

You should be aware that the shoes, by design, are a little wider than most slip on water shoes. I found that even with the standard D width shoe, they would not fit in the Mirage Drive until I took the retaining straps off. In my case I would have needed about two more holes on each side to get by.

I've not had a problem without the straps, though.

Sometimes the wet sandy feet will be a fact of life, and you might as well just get open sandals. Perforated sneakers-type shoes or Sperry-type slip on neoprene booties is what I can suggest to you if you are still looking for. I hope this will give you ease while doing some water activities.

Doesn't address width, per se, but has several helpful suggestions.

I have tried several myself (Keen's and Chaco's are great) but now use the Vibram Five-Fingers because they are as close as possible to being barefoot while still providing protection and traction on land. For me, the sandle styles have two disdvantages: thick sole (I'm 6' 5", need every inch of leg extension possible) and they allow debris to get caught under your foot.
