When I paddle hard I found my feet slipping from those molded steps inside the kayak, they are quite narrow.
Has anybody come up with a solution to this problem?
Thanks Frank

Hi there, 525rider,
Unless this is a trick question may I suggest getting one of them there, new fangled, mirage drive peddle critters and almost hardly ever "paddle" and if ya do, it very seldom is paddling "hard" I find the straps hold my big ole fat feet pretty good.
Stay well, and hit the water,
o.a.b.

On longer distances I like to switch from pedals to paddle. I am 6'3'' size 13 shoes and those steps in Adventure are just too narrow. Any other suggestions?

How about paddling and pedaling at the same time. Faster and a fuller workout.

Okay Frank,
At 6'3' I bet you are used to adapting to a great deal of too small stuff as everything from car to furniture designers going for small, (and as often, lightweight} products, which do not fit or do not hold up to heavy use. I will say that Hobie does not appear to skimp on quality or strength of product. Your use for a full workout probably pushes pretty good. I have noticed that the cockpit is not built for paddle use as it primarily is built around a hole in the bottom of the boat:-) Back to your problem. I have seen straps of wide velcro screwed in at foot locations for a guy with leg/back problems. they were not on a Hobie but, I do not see why it would not work as it was aftermarket add on.
Hope you figure something out,
One Armed Bandit

Your footwear has a lot to do with how "sticky" your feet are. I switched to a Nike Sneakerboat aqua shoe -- light weight, not too big and has a sticky bottom -- much better grip than my other shoes. I get good traction with them, both on the pedals and scalloped sides (paddling and sailing).
Here's the description: http://reviews.nike.com/9191/318344/reviews.htm No doubt there are other sticky shoes as well -- they should help. 8)
