I am considering buying an Oasis . There is a 2010 demo model available locally for what I think is a good price ($1800) . The question is with all the new improvements for 2011 do you think it worthwhile to buy the 2010 or just get the 2011 ? I guess my gut tells me I need the new 2011 but , the savings keeps me thinking about the 2010 . I have read and reread the reviews of the 2011 posted below and just when I think I have decided on the brand new one I get to thinking about saving that money again .
Any wisdom would be appreciated ...

Thanks

We faced a similar dilemma. We went with the 2011 to get the dual steering, and we're very glad we did. It was worth it for us (married couple) so we could take turns steering. So that's my two cents' worth! Good luck!

Thought about you on the boat the other day! On a three-hour trip, there were half a dozen times when it was very nice to have the dual control. I was looking at birds through binoculars, accessing the hatch, turning around to get at the rear cargo deck, fixing the seat when it slipped out--lots of things like that when it was so nice to be able to say "grab the wheel" and so we could keep going.

Just my other two cents!

Happy in Austin you my friend are the devils advocate ...
Just when I made up my mind to get the 2010 I read this but , I think I am going to go ahead and get the 2010 anyway .
I know there are a lot of really nice features on the 2011 but, right now I can't justify the extra cost . I can put the money I save into some accessories and have a pretty nice kayak .
Thanks for your input ...

Ha! If I had been out in a 2010 I would have been just as enthusiastic! :D

That makes sense to have some money for accessories/gear. And you're getting a really, really great price.

And if you end up on a boat on the water, you can't go wrong! :D
