Hi all,

I was wondering on peoples opinion about whether I should worry about something I just noticed on my Adventure hull, or am I worrying about nothing?

The little white plastic round thing (see photo) which sits over some sort of brass insert just in front of the mirage drive hole on the underside of the hull is sticking out quite a lot. This is significantly more than the similar plug on the sailing mast support, and much more than the same component on my Revo. I also dont remember it sticking out like this on previous inspections (I inspect the hull after every trip).

Does anyone know the purpose of this component? And should I be worried about this change, given I kayak fish offshore?

The hull is not leaking and there are no signs of cracks. The hull is about 5 years old now and has been on many adventures.

Thanks stacks for any tips, or advice that anyone has.

Photos below.

Many thanks,

Paul Tuckwell.

You have nothing to worry about Paul. It's just a plug to cover the threads that are used to hold the brass insert in the mold during manufacture. The plug head on my AI's hull has been scraped down paper thin. It has no sealing function other than to stop debris filling the thread hole.
