Problem: Steering handle very hard to move. Rudder up/ down never has worked.
Took her out yesterday found I could hardly move the steering handle. This kayak is fairly new, (made Jan. 2018.) but the stow away rudder system never did work well. I had to manually pull up the rudder each time I used the kayak.
Anyway, we decided to “look under the hood” yesterday. We found a big wad of lines all twisted together. Unable to attach picture.
We decided the lines needed to be straightened out...so we disassembled the crank, & rudder pully to access the lines. After noting the placement of these lines inside the kayak, we pulled out the directional lines one by one then used a long hook to pull them back in place. They were also tangled in the rudder up/down line. We used a mirror to see these lines along with a long wire to pull them back in, & placing them in same path as old alignment but now untangled.
The steering now moves freely, & stowaway rudder is also works as designed.

Awesome! So odd that it was all tangled.
