Hobie Mirage Drive compatibility -- Will the Hobie Mirage Drive 180 w/kickup fins from a 2021 Hobie Compass fit a 2014 Hobie ProAngler 12? I've tried searching the forums but if the answer is there I am missing it. There is one for sale about an hour from me, but I don't want to haul my PA 12 2 hours round-trip just to see if it fits or not. Thanks!

The MD180KU drives are backwards compatible to earlier kayak models. See the following post for reference:
https://www.hobie.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=66528

Since around 2015 the Mirage drives added plastic alignment pins to ensure proper insertion and the kayaks have deeper axle guide channels for these pins. To use the newer 180KU drive in your 2014 PA you may need to cut these pins off the drive if your kayak does not have the longer axle guide channels. Doing so is discussed elsewhere in this forum and does not impact the structure or function of the drive and it will be usable in both older and newer kayaks.
