Never considered it.
The benefit of the Aussie halyard is hoisting the H16 jib and the luff wire tensions the jib. The 18 uses a forestay and zipper jib, so the rig is tensioned prior to the jib sail being hoisted. The furling jib if much larger than a battened jib could be on this rig.
Would be different. Not as powerful. Maybe different sheeting points required.
