I bought a Hook-proof Map Pocket to install on my new Compass. I have seen the Hobie video on how to do this. However, the pocket does not come with mounting screws. What specific screws should I use?

I've never had one of these in my hand. I just recently ordered one and it's on it's way to me but looking at the photo it looks like these will work https://www.amazon.com/Stainless-Phillips-Screw-Bolt-Dropper/dp/B079YBQW9J/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?keywords=%238+bugle+head+stainless+screw&qid=1556193785&s=industrial&sr=1-2-spons&psc=1

You want a tapered or cone shaped head so they will countersink into the pre-drilled holes in the map pocket. 1" in length should be plenty. Of course watch for rudder cables or things behind where you plan on drilling. I like to use my phone and run it into the hull while in video mode so I can see what's back there before I drill.

The pocket with frame comes with screws. Did you order a replacement pocket maybe?

78565001 MAP POCKET MOLDED MESH W/FRAME US$ 15.99

There are two screws in the frame holding it together and 4 additional screws...

8031501 SCREW 8 X 3/4" FHSMS-P SS

These are great! I have one on my garage wall to tuck my kayak hoist lines into. I also added two in the back walls of the bed of my Tacoma to tuck tie down lines into.

I just received one yesterday I ordered from Mariner Sails and it did not have screws either.

Correction it looks like pan head screws will work better after looking at it.

Here's what I plan on buying for installing my map pocket

Mark if you wouldn't mind confirming this that would be awesome!

The holes in the frame are counter sunk. If you only got a replacement pocket (rubber mesh not the hard plastic frame)... pan head would work, but the edges of the pocket would not be uniformly held down.
