Hello,

I was wondering if anybody has installed a downrigger on a Compass? I was wondering about a flush mount Scotty for a Laketroller just between the seat and start of the gear track on the left side? I'm not sure that the plastic would be thick enough? I've done enough research to know that shortening the boom on the downrigger will reduce the amount of load on the kayak (plus make it easier to deploy/retrieve). I know that the gear track itself is not sturdy enough to mount to. I'd be using between 2# and 4# weights and trolling no deeper than 75-80'.

Thanks in advance for any insight.
