Compass Loader

I just purchased and received a Compass Loader (Delaware Water Sports). However, all I received was a grey plastic block. There are no straps with it, and the block is different than what is shown in the following video in that there are no handles around the block. Is this the correct unit?

Not correct then... Maybe they shipped you a MirageWell cassette plug in error? Contact your dealer for sure.

Matt ... it is a loader without anything but the plastic block ... not the drive hole plug ... I can send an image if you tell me how to post it

Talked to Del Paddle Sports (retailer) and they are sending me a new unit ... said this was definitely a mistake ... not sure how a plastic block without hardware, straps, and directions for use could be shipped, but it was.

Very Odd. We get them as a whole assembly and add sales literature only.

Turns out it was a Loader for the new(er) Outbacks ... saw an example today on an Outback at The Kayak Centre in N Kingstown RI as I was picking up some parts.

The retailer made good and sent me the correct loader and I returned the one they sent me ... so all is good

I have to say ... the Compass Loader is a game changer for me. Used it for the 1st time time past weekend. I have a Subaru Outback that I've been cartopping my kayaks, including my Compass. Despite the 68 lb hull (fairly light), getting thge Compass up on the rack has been challenging as I have to lean it up on the car with the nose on the ground, due to the rudder. Now with the Loader to protect the rudder, it is quite simple ... I just line the kayak up parallel to the car with the loader at the center of the car, lift the nose of the kayak and walk the kayak upright (vertical), then pivot the kayak 90 degrees on the loader and lean it up against ]\the rack on the top of the car. Then I simply lift the tail using the loader and push it up in the bars. Easy.
