Stupid question maybe, but I have an outback, wife has a compass. I have handles on my outback which easily allow me to thread a step re-entry through. On the compass, no such handles exist, and I can't figure out anything I can thread the step re-reentry through on the Kayak. I'm I just stupid or is this kinda of an oversight?

I hope that I or my wife never have to re-enter the kayak, but I'm thinking the compass is a bit to wide for her to flip it without assistance of a step-reentry.

Adding a short H-rail is an option. Or one on each side. Or maybe a Ram Ball Mount in the H-Track.

I installed the accessory Compass handles, partly with this re-entry facility in mind. Like you, I couldn’t see any alternatives with the standard hull
