I have a Yakima Easy Rider Trailer that has two levels. The lower level has three crossbars, which are at 36 and 81 inches from the rear bar. I have compass duo, and want to use the Hobie cradles to transport and store by kayak upright on the lower level, since it is a low center of gravity. The question is whether having cradles at 25 and 75% of the length of the kayak (which is 162 inches), is acceptable from a structural standpoint. I am assuming that long term upright storage on the yakima big catch cradles is not acceptable form Hobie standpoint.

The trailer has upper level crossbars that can be up to 60 inches apart, which would give by 33-67%, but I'd rather have the big kayak down low on the trailer.

I would appreciate any thoughts.

Thanks for your help.

William
