Hi im new to this site I bought a 1980 hobie 16 that is in great shape. I took her out a few days ago to Pinecrest lake and had a blast. I live in South Lake Tahoe and dont have enough experience and feel comfortable enough to take her out on this lake. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is any sailing classes in the tahoe are?

Contact Hobie Fleet 2 or any other Hobie fleet in the area for free sailing, rigging, and all-things-Hobie lessons and proper indoctrination.

I will be at the Tahoe Keys for vacation from July 10 to July 17. I will have my 2009 H16 with me. I have been sailing with the TCDYC out of Houston for the last 1 1/2 years. I am by no means an expert but I have picked up a few things and would be happy to help you out. Is there a particular beach in the area that is cat friendly? I was thinking of launching on the west side of the channel to the keys if I can get the boat to the water from there.

I ran across this web site while looking for places to launch.

They say they give classes. You might be able to talk them into letting you use your 16.

Hey if you're in SLT come on out and check out Fleet 2. We're loosly based in Sacramento/Grass Valley. Our next big event is Labor Day weekend at Bucks Lake a few hours north of Tahoe.

We're a very laid back fleet. Most people just camp/fun sail, a few still race.

Check out our page at www.hobiefleet2.com

Is Hobie fleet 2 having a fun sail at Bucks Lake over Labor Day weekend in 2023? If so does anyone know the details? Ryan

The group site at Bucks Lake is closed this year so they're going to be a Lake Davis, camping at Grizzly Campground. I also expect that they'll be setting up boats across the lake at Camp 5. PM me if you are interested and I can get you in contact with the commodore.
