i went out for about three hours today. it was amazing. the wind was crazy; i had a few close calls, but nothing bad happened. i honestly thought it hadn't been more than an hour of sailing altogether--i guess time flies when you're having fun.

speaking of flying, we didn't fly any hulls (on purpose), and i really didn't spend a whole lot of time sheeted in as far as i should have been because none of us (me and my girlfriend and my buddy austin) really have a lot of time on the water, though we all learned how at one time or another in our youth.

still, we were going crazy fast on several occasions. what an unbelievable thrill out on the open water! i never thought i'd find something as fun as surfing.

Smart move taking two along.

Great to hear you had a good time :D

Get out and practice righting the boat! You thought going fast was fun?
Flying hulls and trapezing is a whole other dimension 8)

Glad to hear you had a safe venture out there and a good time. I agree with John, its usually a good idea to take someone along.

Practice righting your boat, when the conditions are appropriate! It will give you much more confidence out on the water when you are sailing if you know you can get it back over if you push her too hard, or capsize for whatever reason. That way the next time you are going out in good winds you won't have anyone telling you not to. Keep having fun.
