srm is right. I would take the opportunity to do a complete refit. Drill out the old rivets and clean up both the casting and mast interior. Remove any old foam mast plug (meant to help keep water out if capsized). Glue in new mast plug, then glue on or use good sealant, and rivet casting in place. Check to make sure the old rivets haven't hogged out the mast. You might have to fill these holes and drill new holes to rivet on casting.
