Been thinking of a new set since February.....

In May, while visiting Ft Lauderdale, John G of Nautical Ventures told me that Hobie had inventory of mainsails, but there was an 'indefinite' on jibs.
Today, Fogh Marine told me the same, in other words, no change.

Will there be any for next season?
We only have 11 weeks of sailing left this year. Sigh!

There is a world wide shortage of sailcloth. The supply chain disruptions continue. The cloth manufacturers are having a hard time finding raw material to make the cloth. The situation is particularly problematic for laminate cloth.

Thanks Rich, did not know that.....

From Sailing Anarchy......
I work for Dimension Polyant in our Putnam, CT facility. It’s been a bumpy road the past 6 months or so, but we are starting to see light at the end of the tunnel. Our facility produces many of the laminates for DP and we sell to customers around the world.

Your sailmaker is correct about shortages & increased demands. We’re doing our very best to catch up with things.

Our facility in Germany has been doing a nice job suppling us with wovens, but there are still a few blips here and there with some of our high end products (Pro Radial, Hydra Net Radial).

I currently work for a Plastic Injection moulder, and since the onset of Covid, the supply chain issues have been horrendous.
For most products, the supply chain issues are now resolved. However, for the odd product, here and there, challenges remain.

I will be patient.
