I have a new 2018 Outback that I've been transporting hull up because the kayak doesn't lay flat when I put it on my roof hull down on unpadded crossbars. My car is a 2013 Subaru Impreza wagon. While transporting hull up is Hobies recommendation without their cradles I find it difficult to flip it over to mount hull up.

I've loaded mine right side up and upside down.

Havent had any issues so far. I just make sure its is secured and not too tight.
