Close to purchasing a new Outback and have a question about picking a cart. The kayak would be often moved up and down a gravel incline, and up and down a few steps. I realize that the Trax 2 is designed for sand, which I won't be encountering, but just wondering if it would be that much better for the gravel and the steps or if I would be better off with the standard. I appreciate any help!

I have the standard and go over gravel fine without issues with my Outback. I had a Trax cart for previous kayak when I would go over sand and gravel at other launches. Since you're going to be launching in gravel (like me) I'd stick with standard.
