Okay. I know! However, I'm 73, retired from the Navy, living on the beach on a fixed income in Japan and don't have the budget for the Hobie upgrades. HOWEVER, I'm still gonna ask.

I understand that after market hatches are available as they are used on other non-Hobie vessels with no issues. I've read that there may be a problem with deck support if such products are used. I also understand that installation of these things could invalidate the warranty (company states that warranty does not cover damage as the result of, etc...).

I'm going to use my boat for exercise and maybe a bit of fishing now and then so I'm not going to load the thing up as a fishing fanatic would do. Just want to cruise my little part of Tokyo Bay on beauty weather days.

Have any of you done this installation? Or thought of it? Thank you!
