The Lynx manual says:

Storing your boat upside down on crossbars or hanging from wide strapping are two ways to keep the boat stored.

If the boat is hanging from wide strapping, does in need to be upside down? I've run into people who read it this way, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to me? Isn't the distribution of forces more even when the hull is right side up?

Does it make any difference which model of kayak it is? I see this language in other manuals as well.

Different days and different times of the day will expose your answer.

If you mean that the sentence is unambiguous, I agree, but it's not entirely clear that the people who wrote the manual would agree with me what it unambiguously says.

Storing your boat upside down, on crossbars or hanging from wide strapping, is ONE way to keep the boat stored.

So clearly I can hang it either right-side up or upside-down on straps because the subject of the sentence is plural:

Storing your boat upside down on crossbars, or hanging from wide strapping, are TWO ways to keep the boat stored.

On the other hand, the pro angler manual page appears intended to divide its pictures into acceptable right-side-up storage methods and acceptable upside-down storage methods, so maybe the unambiguously correct way of reading it is not as unambiguously correct as I think. Other people are reading the same manuals as I am and reaching different conclusions.

I've been storing my boat right side up on straps for a year. Have I voided my warranty?

Temperature is the main factor.
