I’ve owned both and agree the H14 (in particular the H14T) is WAY more prone to pitchpole because of the substantially smaller hull volume up front. If you can master going screaming fast on the H14T, you’re among the best.
That’s said, being a new H16 owner, the biggest difference I’ve seen with how to handle the H16 “at the limit” va H14T is that the H16 jib is BIG and it’s POWERFUL. So when you dump the main, if you still have the jib set, the boat doesn’t come back from the brink as fast as the H14T will.
And the other big difference is the H16 is ridiculously fast compared to the H14T in medium to big wind. So much more power and capability.
Keep the glass side down and go fast.
