Hi, I am going to be replacing the #1 and #2 battens on my 5-batten main. All 5 batten pockets already have Batten Pocket End Protector's on them, so should I buy Luff Batten Tips?

Is this required/recommended?

thanks.

P.S. I seem to have found the lengths of the #1 and #2 battens for a 5-batten main from someone who is selling a main in the classifieds here and took pictures with a tape measure at the end of each batten.
#1: 93"
#2: 85"

Can someone please confirm that there are the proper lengths? My dealer is charging $3/foot so I dont want to be cutting off a lot of excess batten.

thanks.

Replacement battens come with the caps. Yes, they are advised to both protect the sail and the batten itself from damage.
