Just picked up an older H14T in replacement of my Prindle 18 and have some questions. It came with the black boom similar to this on Ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/Hobie-14-Boom- ... e7159a55b6.
Each time when I pull the mainsheet the boom gets pushed against the mast which twist in consequence. It seems that the mainsheet is attached too far to the back. Therefore the mast never is aligned with the wind.
This happens too when I want to tighten the mainsail at the back of the boom.

First time on Hobie so zny recommendation?

Sheeting should push the boom forward and force the mast to rotate to the stop. This is normal. Don't confuse direction of travel with wind flow. The wind is coming from 30-45 degrees from the direction you sail, so when the mast rotates it is more aligned with the air flow.
