Hi all. New to the forum and to hobies. Just picked up this old 14 to re-learn how to sail. The price was very right and it was 10min away from the body of water I intend to keep it on.

Few questions regarding repairing some apparent damage. Seller says it's 'read to sail' and I don't doubt that, but there is one area that gives me concern around the vertical tube coming out of the right keel that I would like to patch/repair before getting it in the water. Any tips, tricks or advice on how to go about this? Keep in mind this will be on an smaller inland body of water and I dont plan on racing it or doing anything crazy. I dont need it repaired to 'like new' status.

In addition to the damage pictured, there are some chips in the leading edge of the keel that I was thinking of throwing some keel guard 'tape' over. Anyone have a product they like or recommend there? Or should I steer clear of adding any drag material to the hull?

Finally, wondering if anyone has experience/luck with StarBrite fiberglass Color Restorer in bringing the gelcoat back to life?

Beyond this work, all I plan on doing is adding a new trampoline and getting it in the water, unless anyone has other ideas for me!

Thanks all
