Not sure what you are talking about. People put travelers on a main so that they can control the twist (and power) in the main in conjunction with the mainsheet. People put a jib track running fore-aft on the deck for the same reason on monohulls and bigger multihulls. Some people have self tacking jibs on a jib track that runs side to side instead of front to back like a jib track. Racers use twings and barberhauls to finely position the jib clew on racing boats. So, when you are asking about a jib traveler, I'm completely lost.
If you are talking about a downhaul (cunningham) to control the jib luff tension; that'd be useful and can be done; but adjusting on the fly will be difficult.
In any event, you probably don't want one on a Getaway. The nice thing about a Getaway is its simplicity. AND, you will need to backwind the jib to tack consistently, so a self tacking jib will be very frustrating.
