There is a two owner 2008 Hobie Wave on Craigslist for $3,900. It has the trailer that came with it. Current owner says he never used it and kept it in his garage. The original owner only took it out a few times on a fresh water lake. It is supposably in like new condition. Current owner bought a cover for it which is still new in box. Doesn't have the jib. It is a 3.5 hour drive to see it. I see used H16's all over the place, but can't find any other used Waves to compare.

Sounds like a bargain to me! Especially if it includes the trailer.

If he hasn't used it (much), the only concerns would be the standing rigging and possibly UV exposure on the seat pads, depending on how it was stored. Make sure no little critters have gotten to the sail or tramp. Check the undersides of the hulls to make sure it hasn't been dragged over rocks.

There's not much else to go wrong. That's why they hold their value so well!

The guy says it is practically brand new. He is going to hold it for me and I will see it in a couple of weeks.

I hope that the price is low enough that when or if I sell it I don't take a beating.

Sounds like a steal! If it isn't beat up! Those boats are really hard to damage in the first place. If the Sail and tramp is in great condition, i agree, buy it!

I told the guy I want it and I sent him a check to hold it for me. I won't be able to get it for a week and a half. It is about a four hour drive to where he lives and he doesn't have the boat at his house at this time. I can't wait to take this boat out. Should be a lot of fun and I am sure it won't be too much to handle.

The Wave is a great choice for what you were looking for.
