Confused

OK have a 07 Revo. She has been a dream. Love her, even enjoy paddling her. Had her in the surf and I have never found her wanting.

Now I am looking to get another craft that the wife will use hardly at all and never in an angling capacity. I will use it to guide both experts and newbs; friends and clients. I will use it as an option for myself.

But this is where I get confused. What boat? I keep coming back to the 12fter lighter, smaller can run and gun and it is stable for newbs and the new mirage makes up for it bargy tendencies (i am just saying).

I dont think I need a 16ft and I am not interested in sailing amas ect.

Dare I get a second Revo.

If you could what would you do.

btw, I have two perception paddle only yaks i love so I am looking to stay happily in Mirage Drive land.

you can't go wrong with another Revolution. I think its the best boat in the line up!

I have a '07 Revo and an "07 Sport for the wife. I don't care for the Sport but she likes it.

I would vote for another Revo. One just can't go wrong. If you love yours, you want to give first timers the best experience possible.

Get an Outback... Same bottom as the Revo... trays make for a better fishing boat...

The revolution is a tad faster and much quieter thru the water. I personaly think it's a better fishing yak than the outback, however call any store that uses the boats weekly and you will find diffent answers.

Yeah, I like the deck layout on the outback it is friendlier. But the revo is such a nice boat.
I still dont know.

The adventure is a bit faster and will help her keep up with you. It also has the option of the AI conversion should your feelings or needs change in the future.

Having options for yourself and your guests would be nice. With 2 different boats you could accommodate a wider range of choices. The more guests and clients you have, the more advantageous this would be.

You seem to have eliminated the Adventure as an option, perhaps because of its length (too bad). The Sport is easy to transport, and maneuverable, but slower and weight limited. The Outback has a comforting initial stability for novices and good deck space but is slower and noisy. The Revo is your best all around boat, but having 2 denies you any boat options.

One important consideration -- if you're going offshore (or in heavy chop), the Revo handles and rides much better than the alternatives (except of course the Adventure), but in flat water, the difference is not as noticeable.

Perhaps a demonstration in the Outback would help in making a selection.

I have both a Revolution and a Outback although the Revolution was bought as my wife's boat I have fished it and do enjoy peddling it, I prefer my Outback as my focus has been of a purely fishing usage and primarily freshwater at that and the topside trays are a real plus I like her boat BUT I don't think I'd trade mine in to get another Revolution especially considering how I fish.

I'm kind of surprised no one has mentioned the Sport (a little over 9 feet in length) as a second yak. I originally got mine for my wife, but have since shifted over to it exclusively when she is not along. Three big features for me are the reduced weight of the Sport, its maneuverability, and the great Outback-style gunwale tackle trays.
