The bass at our fishing club lakes had a pretty massively successful spawn a couple of years ago. The problem is the competition is pretty great for food in the lakes. We are looking at trying to pull out a bunch of small bass when we can, 12" and below. Most of us don't eat large mouth, just whites, crappie and gills, and we don't want to kill them...

Some of guys with boats have started taking the smaller ones to our local park lake which is sorely lacking in bass, trying to repopulate the city lake. I want to do my part, but do not want a full live well system.

Anyone have experience using just an aerator attached to a cooler? I can pick up a 65qt Coleman for cheap and Frabil makes some inexpensive aerators...I just don't know if they work worth a darn. Anyone use a simple system like this? Or can recommend a decent way to keep the fish alive for a up to four hours between catch and release?
