Hey hey. Anyone sail a Compass Duo yet? How does she compare to an Oasis?

I’m in the market for a tandem kayak. Not sure if I can justify going all-in on a tandem island, so looking at the smaller boats first.

I tried sailing the Compass Duo on Sunday. In a 5mph breeze it sailed along, maintained about 1.5 knots in a reach. It felt better in a 10 mph gust. I hiked out a little bit but the sail really folded over so speed wasn't great, 2 knots or so. But with peddling and a gust it went 3 knots as long as the wind held up. Hull speed seems to be about 4 knots with me in it. It's all new to me so I'm not sure I got the terms right or if I had the technique down yet.

It really needs more forward ballast. I basically put all my gear in the front and I only weigh 160lbs. If I scoot forward just a little it balances out. The dealer tightened the rudder down for me. Which is good since the rudder is pretty twitchy at speed.
