Thank you - that looks amazing! I’d better get on with sealing mine
WEAR GLOVES... but it won't be bad.
I was doing the Mechanic Mike top hatch fix and accidentally cut a portion of the top hatch gasket as I was "making" my template for the top of the door. it was about 1/4 inch of the edge of the top gasket cut off for about 4 inches in length.
The mechanic mike will work + oogoo on the bottom to would seal it up 100% - (especially if you do the press molding of it) - but this worked fine and the effort was so small. (And I was miffed I accidentally cut my hatch gasket)
Steps
1) remove the bottom hatch gasket
2) clean up the residue as much as possible
3) fit - cut / place / glue the pipe insulation with the adhesive on
4) test fit
5) peel the adhesive off and stick when you are happy
It's not hard - just take a little bit to get the glue joint on the end of the foam flat and pretty.
Was way more effort to get the superglue / foam off my finger for 3 days.
