The rear "bubble" hatch would look cool, but would also restrict volume, severely limiting load capacity and versatility.
Hey RR,
You're absolutely right...if you have the hatch cover on.
For that reason, I wouldn't recommend it for the AI. But for a Tandem with a front cockpit configured to serve also as a second cargo area, I think, for many, a "bubbled" hatch aft would be a great seller...if just for the looks.
Assuming the width of a Tandem is increased, if only slightly, the opening of a longer, wider "bubbled" hatch shouldn't restrict much of anything.
RR, you'd laugh your butt off if you saw Chekika and me heading out for a 7-day fishing/camping trip in the Everglades
"lookin like Beverly Hillbillys gone fishin--it ain't purdy". I carry an Igloo 50 qt cooler, table, chair, sunscreen tent, plus camping tent & gear, fishing gear, clothes, food, water, electronics, etc.
We sure don't want to give up load capacity or versatility. At the same time, I worry that length/width/weight might get too a point too difficult for us old guys to handle, transport, and store in the garage easily.
I'm sure with your usual good input the best decisions will be made.
Thanks again for all the assistance you provide in this forum.
