In cooperation with the local dealer, I am starting up a group to sail together of TIs and AIs in the greater Denver area (could include any sailing kayaks). I've had some experience with similar kinds of groups involving an outdoor participatory sport. I've learned it is best to keep them as informal as possible and focus on getting together to go sailing. Had not intended on focusing on racing but am not opposed to friendly races on occasion, if that is what the group wants to do. But I may be outside the normal demographic of the market generally attracted to these boats (I am 55). Has anyone else out there started a local group for TIs and AIs and what does your group get together to do? What is the demographic of the membership? Since the boat is so versatile, I thought outings could be thematic and focus either on kayaking including paddling, pedaling for exercise, fishing (use of a trolling motor) and/or sailing. Thanks in advance for your answer.
