i don't plan to go far from shore, it gets very deep very fast here. I had no idea they produced so many options for electric powering boats until I browsed their web site. Sounds like they are pretty reliable too. Thanks for changing my mind.

Yes, Torqeedo does make a lot of different electric outboards and in my experience they are more reliable and dependable than gas outboards.

If you wanted something more powerful than the 1HP Model 403, you could go with 1.5HP 503 or the 3HP 1003 for around the same price. Not as convenient to mount but you'll have more power in the event of a storm or very strong waves/currents.

The 403 is excellent for everything except powerful storms and strong currents.
