I purchased a2017 red tandem island demo boat last year and I have been having a few issues with the sail furling I was wondering whether they were normal or if it is something that could be fixed.
When furling the sail from full open, on the first turn, a pocket at the luff forms and essentially the sail double backs on itself. It happens a little more as the first batton fully wraps too. It's almost as if there is pocket/the sail isn't flat.
I have played with down haul tension, mast twist and batton tension and cannot get it to lay flat. I have started to get some creases in the sail at the luff which concern me in the long run.
Is this a normal thing on a TI sail? What is annoying most is that this creates a looseness to the furling and when trying to sail with a partially furled sail, it tightens on the mast and essentially opens up more.
See pics for a visual of what I am trying to describe:
Thanks for the help!
