I'm interested in attaching TI cradles to unistrut on my trailer. The unistrut would form a crossbar running beneath each cradle. Is the width of the unistrut (1-5/8") enough to support the cradles or should I use a wider platform?

I would put a thick fender washer on top of the unistrut and also one under the bolt head. Otherwise the cradle material will deform downward between the rails of the unistrut and possibly break or crack when you tighten the bolt. Careful how tight you torque those bolts.

I've used the standard Unistrut channel nuts/square washers to mount cradles to Rhino rack (similar dimensions to Unistrut) and have had no problems. They are available in stainless steel.

I have used Hobie Cradles mounted directly to Unistrut on the roof of my Jeep. Many thousands of miles without any degradation to the cradles. This is not exactly the same use as on a launching dolly but I think you will not have any problems.
