When I picked up my 2015 PA12, it only came with 1 horizontal rod holder for the X-rail. Specs on-line and in brochure says it comes with 2 which would make sense. I was there when the dealer opened the accessories box, and there was only 1 in the box. Dealer said it comes with what's in the box.

Is it supposed to come with 2?

Thanks.

Mine came with 2 rod holders, as well as the X-rail cup holder.

Thanks. I'll contact Hobie and see if they'll send me the second one. Looks like its the only decent way to hold my stakeout pole and two-ended paddle. Where to carry these seems to be overlooked entirely on my 2014 PA 12 and not picked up with the other changes on my 2015. Would have been nice if they'd just put the same ledges and bungees as on my Outback and my Revo.

Markbxr400 did Hobie send you the H-rail rod holder? Opened my accessories box and did not have any H-Rail rod holders. The dealership does not even know what the Hobie's come with standard!

Just picked mine up and the entire shipment all the boxes for the PA acc. were marked with missing H-rail rod holders. Guess they will ship at a later date.

and will have to figure out the knobs (as per that post regarding faulty red tightening knob if in fact i do notice i have any that need replacing) for my 3 universal mounts and the 1" ram ball to get those replaced when hobie starts sending those as well. The ones on the cup holder im not too worried about honestly. but when an Ono (Wahoo) or Mahi strike my rod that puppy needs to be secure! lol

The one thing that i was looking for was the bin in the rear 8" hatch but looking at everything in the manual and stuff they don't come with it this year i guess. prolly fitting issues with the skeg.

BadKarma...the aft 8" round hatch is the perfect spot to install your Hobie battery, in the Hobie battery holder, that is designed to "drop into" the rim.

It's no longer possible to use the round hatch in the rear for the battery due to the skeg. I installed mine inside the hull beneath my seat inside a waterproof enclosure

That's a bummer....the other option is to install the battery in the front access using the Hobie battery and mount .....secured to the sailing mast post.....since the Hobie battery has sealed connections, no need for a sealed box to protect it.
My 2013 PA does not have the skeg, so no issue in using the aft hatch for the battery.

Yeah that was my original plan Dr but when i opened the hatch and saw the skeg mold in the way i was like well looks like up front it goes. I have it in a waterproof container to the right of the sail mast for right now but will prolly get the hobie kit just because it does create a clean install but will see.

On another note, man the PA 14 will turn on a dime if the skeg is up. does track better with it down (less constant input) A lot of fun getting her on the water for the first time today. Jump off and re-entered and then flipped it over (grabbed the handles and just kept leaning over until she FINALLY went over) used the rope method to pull it back over and worked like a charm! Waiting to add the amas hopefully tuesday and i don't foresee having to use the rope too much but always good to know how and i won't have the amas on tomorrow when i go fishing with her.

So glad that i picked the PA!!! (Only downfall so far is loading but i think i have a good plan to help that out.)
