On their Pro Angler page Hobie says to "Deploy the tracking skeg when covering long distances in challenging conditions." I'm wondering what's your experience with using the new skeg and is there really any reason, other that shallow water, that you wouldn't want to just keep the skeg deployed in the down position all the time?

If you want to make tight turns... raise the skeg.

The skeg is fantastic when traveling and trolling, but when I'm jig fishing over a top and I pull the skeg up to twist and turn to stay over the top. I love it.
