I found a great deal on a used PA14 2014. I don't see any issues with the boat. Money is not an issue, but I don't want to waist it or run into breakdown issues with a used boat. Any thoughts. Look for newer or take the risk?

The 2014 PA-14 is a "great year" boat.
It has the new seat and rudder BOA, but not the skeg that was added maybe 3 years later.
The Mirage drive turbo fins are reliable too.

I bought a PA-14 in 2012, but was the just released 2013 model, with the new seat.
I subsequently added the rudder BOA and updated bearings to the Mirage drive.
I also added the sailing rudder to improve course tracking while down rigging fishing.

All in all, my almost 11 year old, 2013 PA-14 has been stellar and the 2014 PA-14 would be a great platform to fish out of.

I see no need for the latest "Mirage drive wiz bang features" as they have encountered several reliability issues....not to say the design is flawed, but more complexity increases the risk of problems.

IMHO, go for it!
