I notice in the video's of the Wild Cat there are red sails. Is there any chance the Tigers will get colored sails too?

I want to know this as well. I'm kicking around ordering a main for Havasu. Assuming I they'll make on for the FXone as well.

If they are available in blue I can probably talk the wife into a new set.

No new colors for Tiger sails have been announced by Hobie Cat Europe. We don't yet know what will be available with Wild Cat either. It is possible the red may have simply been R&D.

Do you want colored Pentex? I recently spoke to Chip Buck at Whirlwind Sails about colored Pentex, and he said the only options are smoke and white. He did manage to send me a sample of a new blue Pentex he just received, but IMO the color is closer to a foggy gray.

On the other hand, Whirlwind likely isn't the final word on sails, so maybe the red sails you saw are new for the new boat.

Class legal is the issue though.

I just read the Tiger description on the Hobie Europe site and the main sail is listed as mylar, which explains the color.

The mainsails are Pentex mylar. I believe to get the colors (red, blue, etc.) the white material is dyed. But as Matt stated, no word from Europe on any colored sails, still just the smoke and white which have been around for a few years.

I think that was the first set of sails in yellow or white. Pentex aproval. But I could be wrong. John save that Blue pentex I want to see it.

You can always get a white Pentex main and have it painted any color you want. Not sure on how durable that option is but I've seen pics of painted F18 sails. The only limitation is your imagination.

I have 2 mains 2 jibs and 4 spins, hard to convince the wife to buy a new sail and then have it painted /screened. Now if they were available in her favorite color its alot easier.
Till then I'll keep my boat trimmed in Black and Blue, it matches the crew after a weekend of sailing.
