From a bowline knot tied to the becket of one cleat . . .

To the block on the clew of the sail . . .

Back to the cleat and through to the other side . . .

Through the cleat on the other side . . .

To the other block on the clew of the sail (in front of the mast) . . .

Back to a bowline knot tied to the becket on the 2nd cleat.

That makes much more sense! The way the prior owner had it, both jib sheets were tensioned and you had to manually pull the jib to one side or the other. Thanks for the help.
