Say, I know it's a long, long trip, but... has anyone on the forum sailed the length of the Sea of Cortez on a Hobie? Or a good part of the length of it? Obviously would need to stop in to land periodically for supplies, etc. Just curious, is all... My father and I did Ruff Riders (~150mile Hobie race from Port Isabel to Corpus Cristi, TX) a few years back and was wondering if anyone had taken the big plunge to do a l-o-n-g trip such as the Sea of Cortez.. Just sortive daydreaming and was wondering if anyone out there had the story to tell... :)

Baja...

There have been several. In the early 80's, one of the guys...who is at Hobie now...sailed the length of Baja with two friends on three boats (Two 16's and an 18). They sailed from San diego to Cabo. All single handed.

There is a published story of a guy who did it on the inside (Sea of Cortez). http://www.hobiehawk.com/BajaAdv.html
