Alright,

Although over the last five weeks we have experienced freezing rain, sleet, snow, repeated combinations thereof, still have four inches on the ground, got another dusting this morning, had more days closer to zero than 32 degrees...WE GOT THE SIGN!!! Last night at sundown...snow geese headed towards Chicago :) Substaintiated evidence that even though the calender tells us five weeks of Winter remain, it's over friends. :D

We'll all be sailing soon 8)

Tell me it is over when I am not freezing my ass off and not knocking snow of the tarp covering my boat so it doesn't get to heavy.

The geese are just messed up! But just because it is still winter doesn't mean you can't sail. Buy a wet suit and get out! I have been out four times in 07!

Last time I was at the lake the water temp was around 40.... and the air temp was about 45 and we did fine. You just have to make sure to stay out of the water.

Not yet. Weather man said we have recieved 35" of snow in February alone so far, more to come. I'm sick of shoveling the driveway every day, but it is good exercise.

Sure, with the wind chill today, it was minus 29 Celcius (go get your calculators), and I can't wait.

I can't wait for May, and regular sailing.

I can't wait for March, only two weeks away, when the amount of falling snow decreases, and the ice sailing begins. We only have a short season on the Ottawa River, and is it a blast. Check out our buddies at www nsc dot ca, the Nepean Sailing Club, go to Boating, then to ice sailing.

What do you do with lemons? Make lemonade of course. So let's make the most of the cold season. Keep warm and have fun.
