What is this?

I have a customer that bought this boat, we have no idea what it is, can anyone help?

It's a catamaran.

Damnit! I was gonna say a boat.

Seriously though, perhaps homemade?

no idea. are the hulls flat on the bottom from the mid point back? Is it a H16 mast? My guess would be a one off.

Well, i really know nothing about cats that are non-Hobie aside from seeing a few Prindle sailors, but just shooting random observations here, the dolphin striker and the small piece of metal just forward of the mast base look extremely homemade from the picture. That and the side boards look like 1x6's wrapped in carpeting. Lastly, don't the hulls kind of look like AquaCat hulls?

But yes, I agree on the catamaran comment. It does appear so.

Is that a fin on the back like the Getaway? HMMM...interesting. That trampframe looks bomber! Is it a transport barge for moving cars?

This would be a good topic for catsailor. Someone there knows what it is.

I don't know about transport barge for moving cars, unless you mean the miniature power wheels cars for kids. That might be the case.

Anyway, even if they figure it out, is it possible to get some more pictures? I'm intrigued by the construction. like the 4 foot long reinforcing supports underneath the middle and front two pylons/brackets that connect the hull to frame.

My best theory is that it used to be a pirate catamaran, and all those extra metal pieces are where they mounted the weaponry. Also, the carpeted side bars are for easier boarding of vessels.

Too bad the front end of that Mitsubishi Fuso is in the photo.

The Black and White really gives it a 1970's aura.

That's not a Mitsubishi Fuso, it's a concept VW Van from the early 70's.

In my opinion definitely looks home made, all the structure supporting the tramp looks way over built and the fit between the hulls and the deck doesn't look real professional. And yes they do look like aquacat hulls.
