Picked up my PA12 yesterday, installed some 2" pvc on the yak trailer today and off to Lake Murray I went. Using my new Wheeleez scupper cart I launched my new pride and joy. This was not my first day on a yak, but my first with a PA. To say I was disappointed was an understatement! What a dog! No speed to speak of and sluggish to boot!
After expressing my dismay to a friend he suggested I remove the scupper cart.
Duh....Anyway, after removing said cart all was great. Lots of speed and really stable. Stablity was really good sitting down, standing not so much. I think this will get better.
Also tried a reentry, easy enough from the rear. Also used the sail, too much candy for a nickle, I will return the sail. That sail mount looks like a good spot for a fish finder...All in all this boat is exactly what I wanted and will be a great addition to the fleet.
My other yaks (Tarpon 160 and 140) are good too. This boat is going to be my saltwater boat, seems like I have to travel so much farther to get to the salty fishing grounds and this boat fits the bill!
