I will buy a revolution 16 or 13 next summer with: sail, ama kit, sail rudder, turbo fins, furl system. I need some advice from people who own or try both the revolution 13 and 16. I will mainly use the kayak for photography and do some long distance run. I tried a ouback and love the mirage drive but I know The revolution will be much more fun! I love speed!
1-What is the difference in speed between the revo 13 and 16 with turbo fins? Cruising speed and top speed? I can't find this information anywhere
2-Does the revolution 16 handles ocean and waves much better then the 13?
3-Does the 16 has much more storage then the 13?
Feel free to add any other comments that are not related to my question! I want to gather as much information as possible before I make my purchase!!
Hi Rick and welcome to the forum. You can find a load of info by looking in the search feature under "Adventure" and Revolution (former names of the Revo 16 and Revo 13). Here is an example (the deck plan and seating details have changed over the years, but basic hull performance is unchanged):

1. Cruise and top speed depends on the user to a large extent. Cruise speed is important, but top speed isn't because it take you very far (lasts about 30 seconds max). For me, the 16 cruises about .3 MPH faster than the 13, more in wind and chop. If you are strong, you can push it easier then the 13 beyond that. There is roughly a 1 MPH +/- difference in sprint speeds.
2. You have some fantastic pics, many of which appear to be on inland waterways. If you plan to use your kayaking that capacity, you can access more densely remote areas with a shorter kayak, like a Revo 11 (quick, maneuverable, quiet) that can worm its way in where the longer kayaks can't. Downsides are it's a little slower and not as good of sailer. On balance, sailing with the Sidekick negates any tenderness from the boat and it has a sweet cruising speed of about 4.0 - 4.3 MPH (fast for its size)
Pictured is a Sport, but the Revo 11 is very similar in terms of access. The Sport falls short of your other needs.3. The Revo 13 has better storage access than the Revo 16. You can scoot forward and access the front hatch easily on the water.
4. The Revo 16 is a wetter ride than the 13 in abeam chop because it sits lower. On the other hand, it is the absolute best in nasty weather -- much faster, less pounding, and its narrower beam lets you control your beam swells best. All the Revos are seaworthy though IMO.
5. If you get the 16, you'll want the daggerboard for sailing!
