After sleeping on it, I came to the same conclusion: Bite the bullet and buy a new seat.
That way I can have two seats dedicated to our Oasis and one for my new Revo 11.
This will result in less hassle. Less hassle usually equals more time kayaking instead of screwing around with the hassles.

If you want to use your '09 seat for both boats, you can remove the 2012 peg inserts from the new hull by unscrewing them. Then your old seat pegs will work directly in both boats without having to convert them back and forth.
The better option IMO is to bite the bullet, buy the new 2012 seat for your new 2012 boat and keep it as a dedicated seat. That way you have enough seats to launch both boats with at least one Drive for each. This will accommodate grandkids, friends, or opportunistic strangers. Besides, if you ever sell one boat or the other, you won't come up short.
