Just picked up a set of low profile jib cars to replace me ancient stock ones and I was wondering what the process is for removing the old ones. I'm guessing I have to drill out the rivets on the inboard end of the track and just do the switch and reinstall new rivets.

Question 2, what kind of rivet gun do I need to install SS rivets?

Thanks

The inboard tarck end-cap is typically a screw fastener. If riveted... yes drill out to remove the cap to open the track. A basic rivit gun you can use on aluminum rivets is usable on a limited number of stainless rivets... with strong hands to work it.

Be careful when you drill out the rivets. They'll heat up and melt the plastic end cap.

Alternatively, you can take a couple of rivets out of the outboard end, gently slide a flat-bladed screwdriver under the track until it clears the corner casting. Slide old ones out and new ones in. Re-rivet and you're done.

You need a rivet gun that you won't find at your local hardware store.
